Arpita Foundation was started with the intention to reach out to all those who need emotional strength to swim across challenging situations that drains emotionally and drowns them.
Arpta foundation was started by a small group of counsellors who have over a decade of experience in this field. Our slowly growing force is now a team of dedicated and trained volunteers.
We are supported by doctors and mental health experts who are ready to step-in and take-over in case of need and referrals for further assistance
Arpita Foundation was registered on 27th April 2019
Has been a active volunteer for the past 18 years at well known Helpline and is very active in contributing to the growth of Arpita Foundation.
Former Principal of a well-known college in Bangalore, who groomed Students and teachers, a trained Helpline volunteer and contributes to the growth of Arpita Foundation
From Engineering Background, has done Diploma in Counselling skills, NLP practitioner. Has over 10 years of Experience in Volunteering at well known Helpline and other places, has been instrumental in Building Arpita Foundation and oversees day to day operations.
Former Employee of Hindustan Aeronautics. Has done MSW and has been a Volunteer at well known Helpline for the past 8 years. Also was an active Volunteer and organised Blood Donation Camps etc., for Lions Club
Our team comprises of dedicated, trained and experienced volunteers. Our volunteers are monitored by senior mentors/counsellors while they reach out to the distress callers.
We organise periodic refresher programmes to update their knowledge and to improve their counselling skills. We have been attending to calls for various reasons right from failed relationships, academic stress, job stress, addiction, clinical depression and people who have history of suicides in the family. There is a slow but gradual increase in the number of calls. Our volunteers are able to speak in the following languages : English, Hindi, Kannada, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Konkani, Assamese, Gujarati, Bengali and Urdu.
Malini: Diploma in fine arts, have been working as a volunteer with well known Helpline, Completed Diploma in counselling skills, first level in NLP and has attended a lot of workshops organised by Nimhans, Currently volunteering at Arpita Foundation as a senior Volunteer/Counsellor
Nazneen: Bsc (chem), MA (ancient history), Diploma in counselling skills. Has done various social works with the Air force Wives Association (Namely adult education) and meeting Terminally ill patients taking treatment in Palliative care. Been a well known Helpline volunteer, Mentor at Banjara Academy for online students, have attended various workshops in Psychotherapies. Currently volunteering at Arpita Foundation as a senior Volunteer/Counsellor
Keerthi: B.Com, LLB, MA(Psychology) (PGDMH), Diploma in Counselling Skills and Certified Lifeskills trainer Play therapist for the blind certified by Hadley’s School for the Blind, Illinois USA. From being a Manager Recoveries to Lecturer in a leading Engineering College has interacted and helped people various from various walks of life. Had been active volunteer at hospitals, women's helpline, de-addiction centres for over a decade. Co-ordinator for the online Courses and Mentor at Banjara Academy for online students. Continues to serve as Psychologist/consultant at various counselling centres across Bangalore and presently serving Arpita Foundation as Senior counsellor/Mentor/Coordinator for conducting seminars and workshops.
Smitha: A caring, open-minded and a genuine person, trained counsellor with deep understanding of counselling concepts. Holds a Diploma in counselling skills and MA in Psychology. She cares about mental health and understand the implications it has on our lives. She volunteered her time at well known helpline - a suicide prevention helpline. Currently volunteering at Arpita Foundation as a senior Volunteer/Counsellor
Jayanthi : has been in the field of Counselling from 2010. After having had the experience of working at MNCs, both in India and abroad. Her experience as a Counsellor at the well known Suicide Helpline opened tremendous opportunity to experience various aspects in the counselling field like relationships, Marriage, Job loss, financial constraints and various problems being faced in the Society at present. She had the opportunity to Counsel Students at various schools organised by the well known Awareness Team. Currently volunteering at Arpita Foundation as a senior Volunteer/Counsellor
Shriram: Retired banker & Writer. Volunteered as tele-counsellor at well known Helpline for Suicide prevention from it's inception in 2002. Served as an active volunteer for more than 15 years. Currently volunteering at Arpita Foundation as a senior Volunteer/Counsellor since its inception.
